WHAT IS SPYDER'S WARRANTY POLICY?

Spyder offers a limited lifetime warranty on outerwear, specifically ski jackets and pants, covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty applies only to items purchased by the original owner from an Authorized Spyder Dealer, with valid proof of purchase. A style tag and proof of purchase is required to verify eligibility; without either, we cannot accept the item for evaluation. Coverage lasts 10 years for adult garments and 2 years for kids’ garments. Therefore, adult items manufactured before 2015 and kids’ items before 2023 are no longer eligible.

DEFINE "LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY"

Spyder’s Limited Lifetime Warranty covers manufacturer defects for the practical lifespan of the garment - not your lifetime. The product lifespan depends on how often it’s worn, how it's used, and how well it’s cared for. Normal wear-and-tear is not covered under this warranty. Normal wear-and-tear includes avoidable incidents and accidents during regular skiing that result in damage (sorry - we can't repair rips from close calls with trees!).

WHAT WILL SPYDER DO WITH MY GARMENT?

Once we confirm your item is covered under warranty, Spyder will first attempt to repair it. At our discretion, if you send in your item and it cannot be repaired, it will be replaced via a warranty code that can be used to purchase a new item of equal value from Spyder.com. In some (but not all) cases, we can send you back your unrepairable item INSTEAD of a warranty code. If your item is unrepairable and you would prefer we return it instead of giving you a replacement code, you must alert us within 2 business days after being told your item is unable to be repaired. Please be aware that there are some cases in which your item will not be able to be returned to you.

Items that were not able to be repaired will cease to be covered by our warranty, and will not be able to be sent to us in the future for any other repairs. If your item has sentimental value, or you don't want to take the risk of not getting your item back, we suggest not sending it in to us.

In this case or if your issue isn't covered, you may wish to bring your item to a local repair shop, seamstress, or tailor. Be aware that bringing your item to a third party for repairs WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY

Please note: repairs are made for function, not aesthetics. We’ll do our best to match original zippers, snaps, and logos, but exact matches may not be available. Spyder does not offer garment alterations.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER SPYDER'S WARRANTY?

  • This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, normal wear-and-tear, incorrect laundering, or natural breakdown of colors and materials over time and usage
  • Cuts or tears caused by ski edges on pants or jackets aren’t covered under warranty - props to your tuner for sharp edges, but our warranty doesn’t cover the damages
  • Certain lifestyle products are not covered under the lifetime warranty. If an item is not covered, the product page will state: "Not Available for Lifetime Warranty"
  • Repairs from third-party services not authorized by Spyder will be voided and are no longer covered by our warranty
  • Goose down feather pull-through is normal and not warrantied
  • Natural UV fading of colors
  • Real or faux fur
  • Damage to water repellent coatings due to duct tape application, melting, or abrasion
  • Spyder does not warranty purchases through consumer resale sites such as Craig's List, or eBay
  • Counterfeit and Sample products

HOW DO I RETURN MY GARMENT FOR WARRANTY EVALUATION?

1. Wash the garment. Government regulations require that all garments be cleaned before returning, or they will be returned as-is, unrepaired. This includes any kind of dirt or debris, pet hair, strong odors (including notable body odor and cigarette smoke), and any other soiling of the garment.

2. Bring the garment back to the authorized Spyder dealer where the item was purchased. Remember to bring your receipt. Many dealers will return items to Spyder on your behalf, individual stores’ policies may vary.

3. If you prefer to contact us directly, or you ordered online at Spyder.com, please fill out the warranty claim form and our team will review your submission and get back to you: https://www.cognitoforms.com/OutdoorCollectiveLLC/WarrantyClaimForm

4. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to customer support at: customerservice@spyder.com.

HOW LONG DOES A WARRANTY/REPAIR ORDER TAKE?

Depending on the time of year, expect a 2-4 week turnaround. Some repairs may take longer if we have to order material or parts.

WHO PAYS FOR THE SHIPPING ON A RETURN?

Spyder will cover return shipping and cost of repair on qualifying warranty claims. Shipping to Spyder is your responsibility. Spyder recommends shipping with a service that can provide tracking information, we are not responsible for packages lost in transit to Spyder. When we return your repaired garment to you, our team will only ship via FedEx Ground. This means we are not able to expedite shipping, and are not able to ship to PO boxes. Spyder's Repair Team does not accept or send any packages internationally.

THE WARRANTY SMALL PRINT

  • In Europe, Spyder offers a 2-year policy and is subject to individual country's laws and regulations.
  • Within the U.S., rights under U.S. warranty laws vary state-to-state.
  • In Canada, warranty rights may vary by province

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY SPYDER APPAREL?

To wash, follow the care label on the inside of the garment. Zip all zippers prior to washing, and close all Velcro. To boost waterproofness, we recommend NIKWAX Tech Wash. Use caution around heat sources, including register heaters and fireplaces. Technical fabrics can melt, and this is not covered under our warranty policy.

CAN I USE WATERPROOFING PRODUCT WHEN I WASH MY SKIWEAR?

Sure. We recommend NIKWAX TX Direct; visit NIKWAX for options and follow the package's instructions.

CAN I GET A REPLACEMENT ZIP-OFF SLEEVE (GOGGLE WIPE, BELT, HOOD, ETC) FOR MY JACKET?

Sorry, due to storage, production, and constantly progressing designs, we can't replace lost components.
