The Ultimate Ski Trip Packing List
Expert Guide2 min read

BETTER TO DOUBLE CHECK AND BE PREPARED FOR A GOOD TIME

FORGETTING ONE KEY ITEM LIKE GOGGLES, THE RIGHT SOCKS, OR A BASE LAYER CAN PUT A DAMPER ON AN OTHERWISE PERFECT SKI TRIP. USE THIS CHECKLIST TO PACK ONCE, PACK RIGHT, AND GET STRAIGHT TO THE LIFT LINE WHEN YOU ARRIVE.

OUTERWEAR

☐ Insulated or shell ski jacket
☐ Ski pants (insulated or shell, matched to your jacket’s warmth level)
☐ Backup gloves or mittens
☐ Neck gaiter or balaclava
☐ Helmet
☐ Goggles (plus a spare lens for changing light conditions)
☐ Ski socks (pack more pairs than days on snow)

[Women's Pro Liner Socks] Helmet, goggles, and several pairs of ski socks. Small items that are easy to forget and hard to ski without.

☐ Moisture-wicking base layer bottom

SKIN AND SUN PROTECTION

☐ Sunscreen (SPF 30+, snow reflects UV and intensifies exposure)
☐ Lip balm with SPF
☐ Moisturizer for cold, dry mountain air

APRÈS-SKI AND DOWNTIME

☐ Snacks!
☐ Comfortable boots or shoes for walking
☐ Casual, warm layers for the lodge
☐ Swimsuit (for hot tubs or spa amenities)
☐ Phone charger and portable battery pack

Trail mix, energy bars, whatever keeps you going between runs. Altitude and cold burn more calories than you'd think.
SMART EXTRAS EXPERIENCED SKIERS PACK

☐ Small backpack for carrying extra layers or water on the mountain
☐ Reusable water bottle (altitude and cold both increase dehydration risk)
☐ Basic repair kit or multi-tool
☐ Spare buckle or strap for boots/bindings
☐ Trail map or offline resort app download

PACKING TIPS WORTH REMEMBERING

Check the forecast the night before, not the week before. Mountain weather shifts fast, and your layering plan should shift with it. Break in new gear before the trip. New boots or a stiff new jacket are better tested on a local hill than on day one of a destination trip.
